Overwhelmed; excited; depressed; would have been helpful to have had it explained all together; How do we get the classroom there?; It's a monumental change to education; need to keep personal contact that technology takes away, blend both worlds; Know what questions to ask to elicit conversation; social & emotional relationship needs of kids; digital citizenship.
What does amplified mean? Consensus: Goes beyond conditional boundaries. Examples/questions evident now in Iowa -

conferences for teachers conducted at the state level
CGI - Cognitive Guided Instruction

Sharing Professional Learning Networks (PLN) - How to get started and maintain. Resources may be: Deron Durflinger, Van Meter CSD, Jeanene Sampson, Sioux City CSD
Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) - Cedar Rapids CSD working w/ DuFour Model
Online PLN's - Evan Abbey, Heartland AEA, in charge of statewide online learning; getting teachers involved; Instructional Rounds (Richard Elmore) - see Sharon Kurns or Bonnie Boothroy for article on them.
How to bring people together on the Iowa Core Curriculum (ICC) - teacher instruction; ICC, not just why, but how?; Data Driven Instruction; What does powerful instruction look like?; monitor student growth.
PLC umbrella - instruction, training, ICC & collaboration - relationship building; Iowa's Sense of Urgency Camaign; RTI; tool will be Technology.
Give ideas of what classrooms will look like in 10 years; How do Administrators teach teachers to be better teachers?; What's the path going to look like.
Collaboration of all professional organizations; ICC, to understand it better; What a standard-based report card is supposed to look like?; How are students supposed to learn what the report card says they are to learn.
Consider having the DuFour's provide an institute here in Des Moines
